Only 15% of the Prime Minister Kurushall Development Scheme beneficiary land jobs, according to government data

Expressing concern over the unemployment of the youth, government statistics have shown that since 1 2015, more than 1.6 crore candidates trained under the Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKV) have earned job seats, which is less than 5 % of the total trained youth.

In a written reply to the Lok Sabha, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Jayant Chaudhary said that placement was done in the first three phases of PMKV, between 2 and 3. However, the latest phase of the PMKV -1 program, has been created to support more different types beyond the job placement.

“PMKV.1.1 is towards making the candidates capable of pursuing various career routes from a multi-planned point of view, including placements, self-employment and entrepreneurship,” Chaudhary said.

The Minister said that platforms like Skill India Digital Hub are being taken advantage of to connect trained candidates to employers and Rent Pradhanis. Rosigar Melalas and National Apprenticeship Mela are also being kept regularly for rental growth.

Nevertheless, the results of employment are uneven. Out of the short-term training (STT) component between 2 and 2, only 56..8 LKH lakh candidates were registered for 1.3..3 lakh-about 43% placement under that section.

According to TOI, expert training courses and market needs are not constantly matched. By admitting this, the government has started the district-level skill gap and are launching state-specific training programs. To enhance the employment paths, the government has also added skilling schemes to financial assistance programs like the Prime Minister’s Mudra Yojana. About 8.8 lakh urban poor have also benefited under the Day-NULM. In total, the total cost of Rs 77555 crore. Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are currently at the forefront of the distribution of registration and loan under these schemes. “Training has been provided under PMKV. Credit for learning.”

He said, “Regular monitoring and third-party evaluations are made to ensure quality results.”

The third-party evaluation of the PMKVY offer is currently in progress and its findings are expected to inform future strategic directions.
