This recruitment is part of the extension of the current SBI staff in FY 26. Earlier, the bank had appointed 505 probationary officers and 13,455 junior associations. The official statement states that the goal of the current round is intended to strengthen service distribution and operational support all over India.

SBI Chairman CS Setty said, “The new talent pool onboard is at the center with the purpose of strengthening human resources capabilities by implementing structured skill development programs aligned by functional and technical requirements.”
The bank added that the recruitment has constantly focused on the creation of future banking talent of SBI. With more than 1.3636 lakh employees, the bank said that they were committed to supporting financial growth by competent and trained professionals.
